About this Arena:

This indoor arena is located in the Chinatown section of the larger Penn Quarter neighborhood, and sits atop the Gallery Place rapid transit station of the Washington Metro. It opened in 1997.

Notable in this Arena

Sportsbook: Place your bet and enjoy this space – with over 1400 square ft. of LED wrapping the facility, more than 100 screens fill the nooks and crannies, 30 betting windows and kiosks with live odds, and an LED outdoor LED ticker. The signature piece is a custom, full-LED scaled scoreboard (modeled after Capital One Arena’s main scoreboard). It suspends from the second-level ceiling and provides crystal-clear live content in the round.

A new, immersive art & memorabilia initiative called the District Arts Collection is being rolled out across the arena (interior + exterior). It covers multiple levels and includes works by local artists, framed historical photos, and displays celebrating the Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, and DC sports culture in general.

Hennessy Chiefs Courtside Lofts — five-course dining right by the court for a small group, full service directly to your seat.

Gameday Clinics provide children 6 to 14 with a unique, memorable experience – providing an opportunity for kids to play on an NBA game court and have up-close and personal interactions with their heroes. Pat & Stugg’s (Section 120): get a grilled Smashburger, with a squidgy potato bun, topped with melted cheese and serve loaded tater tots.

Jerk at Night (Section 103): try the Jerk Wings, with a Caribbean seasoning with a dose of blackened, smoky flavor.

Tonari (Section 214): The crunchy Detroit-style Pizza crust topped with cheese, pepperoni, & Japanese-inspired items like sukiyaki-simmered beef.

Local Beer: try a Devil’s Backbone Lager or IPA (Section 430)
